Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2026

The short version: Optical Toolkit collects nothing. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs — and it makes no network requests at all. Your calculator inputs, settings, favorites, and any OTDR trace files you open all stay on your device. The longer version below spells out each point.

What we collect

Nothing. Optical Toolkit does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on any server. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, no email collection, and no analytics SDK of any kind.

What stays on your device

Your appearance settings (theme, font, text size), your favorite tools, and the values you type into calculators live only on your iPhone or iPad. OTDR trace files (.sor) that you open are parsed entirely in the app's memory on the device; their contents are never uploaded, copied, or shared anywhere.

Network use

The app makes no outbound network requests during operation. Every calculator, reference table, glossary entry, and the OTDR reader works fully offline — airplane mode included.

The Settings screen contains two optional links: the MapYourTech website and a feedback email address. These open in Safari or Mail only if you tap them; the app itself sends nothing.

Third-party services

We use no third-party analytics, no advertising networks, no crash reporters, and no SDKs that collect data. You can verify this yourself by enabling iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → App Privacy Report and observing that Optical Toolkit makes no network contact.

Purchases

Optical Toolkit is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no advertising.

Children's privacy

Optical Toolkit does not collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is a professional engineering utility rated 4+ and complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by virtue of collecting nothing.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is no data to access, correct, export, or delete. The in-app Clear all data & reset option (Settings tab) removes your favorites and preferences instantly, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stored on your device.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced through the app or on this page; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
