Frequently asked

Do I need an account?

No. RenewalGuard has no sign‑up, no login, and no account system. Everything you track lives in the app on your device.

Where is my data stored?

On your device only. RenewalGuard doesn't operate a server, so there's nothing to sync to and nothing we can see. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

How do reminders work?

Routine reminders arrive at your daily nudge time. As a charge or cancellation deadline gets close, urgent reminders repeat at every additional time you've set, so missing one notification isn't the end. Turn on Alarm mode in Settings if you want every nudge to use sound and Time‑Sensitive delivery that cuts through Focus modes.

How does the Decide flow work?

Before a payment renews, RenewalGuard asks how much you've used it since the last renewal, then asks for a decision: Keep, Cancel, Downgrade, Pause, or Review later. That decision is saved with the payment so you can see your history over time.

How do I back up or move my data?

Settings → Your data gives you Export all data (CSV) for a spreadsheet‑friendly copy, and Export full backup (JSON) for everything — decisions, price history, proof records, refunds, and per‑payment settings. Restore from backup reads that JSON file back in. You can also turn on automatic backups to a folder you choose, on a schedule you set.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes the complete decision loop for two tracked payments — enough to try it on the renewal that worries you most. Pro removes the payment limit and adds escalating multi‑time nudging, the cancellation proof vault, refund tracking with dispute deadlines, and full savings history. See the full comparison on the pricing section.

How do I restore my Pro purchase after reinstalling?

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase. Pro is tied to your Apple ID, so this works on a new device or after deleting and reinstalling the app.

How do I cancel my RenewalGuard subscription?

RenewalGuard Pro is billed and managed entirely through Apple. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, choose RenewalGuard, and cancel there. RenewalGuard itself has no billing system and can't process a cancellation on our end.

Does RenewalGuard sell or share my data?

No. There's no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third party that ever sees your payments or decisions. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.

What happens if I delete the app?

Everything goes with it — payments, decisions, proof records, refunds, and settings — unless you've exported a backup first. There's no cloud copy to recover from.
