Calculating Transponder bandwidth

Last Updated: August 16, 2025
1 min read

Transponder bandwidth is the product of Modulation , Baud Rate and the Polarisation.

BW=Modulation x Baud x Polarisation

Following table will give an idea for various bit rates:-

Ex:

Modulation = 2 (bits/s/Hz)

Baud Rate = 32G

Polarisation= 2

BW= 2 x 32 x 2 =128Gbps
